Citrytrip BarcelonaHola Barcelona!
ROOMLR clients, who booked an appartment in this beautiful city all seem to have an unanimous opinion; ‘Barcelona is like Paris, New York or even Tokio; there is always something to do’. It’s the city of a laid back lifestyle, history, art, architecture, delicious food, many tourist activities and more. A huge plus? With Barcelona being a part of Spain, the temperature isn’t too bad either, Though they actually see themselves as a separate part of Spain, Barcelona is the capital city of the autonomous community of Catalonia, and the country's second largest city, with a population of 1.6 million.
Traveltips for visitors and touristsWorthy of Admiration
Barcelona is a big city, and as a tourist you probably don’t have a lot of time, but you still want to see as much as possible during your visit. A tip from ROOMLR, rent a bike! Get outside when the weather's just right, see the sights in your own time, and get to know the city close-up. Must-sees on our ROOMLR list: the ‘Las Ramblas’1,2km street, just soak up the atmosphere and admire the buildings, from the ‘Canaletes fountain’ to the ‘Columbus Monument’. Antoni Gaudi’s design, the ‘Sagrada Família’ church, and ‘Park Güell’, to take a look at some more amazing artwork of Gaudi. Shopping in Barcelona, it never get’s old (old city- new city). If you want to escape Barcelona’s busy city life, there’s always the option to go the beach, all within reach by metro. During the day there are many tourist tours available, go visit the ‘Picasso Museum’, or get blowned away by the ‘Magic Fountain’ by night. Overall, you can’t leave Barcelona without trying and tasting their fantastic kitchen. Tapas are the Catelan’s favourite dish; the tradition of eating small dishes as an appetizer, snack or in combination to form a main meal of the day. Very tasty!
Book an apartment or holiday home in BarcelonaThe metro is the ideal form of transportation
You could book an appartment anywhere in the city centre that is connected via a Metro underground stop. The metro serves most of the areas in Barcelona with tourist attractions. If however you want to be right in the middle of where all the action is then you would need to stay around La Rambla or Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter). This area also has some of the best transport connections in terms of buses, metro and train via Plaça Catalunya station, which is at the top of La Rambla.
